Friday's four main names for The Tall Ships Races are ready
On Friday, July 31, the headliners of The Tall Ships Races invite you to sing along and showcase your formidable songwriting skills. The concerts during The Tall Ships Races are a crowd-pleaser that brings together Aalborg residents and guests from near and far.
“We can present three strong female soloists, each of whom has made an impressive mark in their own way. Today’s closing concert on the Port of Aalborg stage at Slotspladsen is hosted by Pil. Pil is one of the biggest headliners on the Danish festival scene this summer and will be opening the prestigious Orange Stage at Roskilde Festival, among other things. That’s why we’re also happy to be able to present her to The Tall Ships Races,” says Keld Rud Nielsen, responsible for music and entertainment.
Aura Dione will be warming up the audience on the Port of Aalborg stage. Aura Dione participated in the TV show Toppen af Poppen in 2017 and in MGP in 2024 with the song “Mirrorball of Hope”. With her on stage, she has a string of hits including “Something for Nothing”, “Geronimo” and “I Will Love You Monday”.
On the stage in Nørresundby, Anne Linnet will close the day with a bang. “Anne Linnet has been a pioneer and role model for other female artists. She will be coming to The Tall Ships Races with a cavalcade of hits that we are sure will hit the spot with the audience,” says Keld Rud Nielsen. On DR’s recently published top 100 of Danish songs, Anne Linnet also had three songs at the very top, which testifies to her importance.
There will also be room for a single male artist. Singer and songwriter Juncker is the headliner of the day on the tent stage at Musikkens Plads. "We have previously enjoyed Juncker, who with a song like Havana, the signature tune for Med Kurs Mod Fjerne Kyster - and around 100,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, has cemented himself as a popular and recognized songwriter with a loyal fanbase," concludes Keld Rud Nielsen.
